How to identify keywords associated with your target keyword

Google gives us a simple way to identify and list the keywords it associates with your target keyword. The best way to go about it is to get such a list from the horses mouth, at the Google Keyword Tool.

Here you can enter your target keyword, no need to enter a website or category, and Google will present a list of max 800 keywords. By default they will be sorted by relevance.

You can then pick a handfull – six to ten – of these keywords on the first page of results, to appear in the body of your article. The target keyword should be in the body too, at least once or twice, but not more than seven times in a 400-word article, and it must also be in the article title.

This is a simple formula to follow to give your page the best chance of being ranked well in the search engines for your target keyword.
